Blinkist is an app that has many features, they have audio books, they have podcasts and initial material, but the main selling point, the important things that they promote, the important things that makes them various from other audiobook apps, is that they claim they can give you the bottom lines of any non-fiction book in 15 minutes. Essentially, they are marketing themselves as an alternative to checking out books or listening to complete audio books by, and I quote here from their site: “Check out or listen to the essential concepts from very popular nonfiction titles in 15 minutes” So the concept is that you get their app, you sign up for it, and you can listen to as lots of books as possible that are condensed to 15 minutes, and they claim that you will still get the crucial ideas and an understanding of what the book is about.
I was suspicious, I am a reader and even though I don’t read much non-fiction, given that I much choose checking out fiction, I do check out some of it, some of the books that I saw marketed on Blinkist as 15-minute summaries, I simply could not imagine being condensable into 15 minutes. Since we are talking about some actually big books, about heavy, complex ideas that I just didn’t believe you can squeeze into 15 minutes. Okay, so I’ve got the Blinkist app in the Google Play Store and I’m going to install that. Mindset On Blinkist
