What is the Headway app? Write For Blinkist

When reviewing a tool or service, most people immediately delve into what they like and don’t like. That’s a mistake, particularly when taking a look at one of many services in a particular classification. In this case, book summaries. Write For Blinkist

The principle of a book summary itself has some specific benefits and disadvantages. Naturally, these will transfer to Blinkist and any other book summary service. You can’t really blame a specific business for them.

Let’s very first look at those, so we can much better identify the unique benefits and drawbacks of Blinkist later.

Pros of checking out book summaries:.
You’ll avoid all unnecessary details. This is especially helpful for books that just make one or a couple of assets. It also assists you avoid poor books entirely.
You can find out about more and different topics much faster. Instead of being stuck on one book about meditation for a month, you can check out a summary in a few minutes. Then, you can jump to the next mindfulness book or a brand-new topic entirely.
You’ll likely remember more without taking notes. Because book summaries focus around facts and brief ways to highlight them, you’ll likely leave from one summary with 3-5 things you’ll keep in mind. It’s tough to properly memorize anything if you check out a full book without taking notes.
Cons of reading book summaries:.
You’ll lose the majority of the story and humor of the book. This is bad, since it makes reading fun. Depending on just how much you get in touch with the story, it likewise assists you keep in mind a lot, even if you may need to keep in mind.
The best books strike hard with every page. Some books you simply have to read in full to get the most out of them.
Due to a lack of context, you may translate truths the wrong way. In some cases, a summary mentions a concept one way, whereas the context of the book sets it up in another. However since that context is now missing, you’re translating the concept in a different way and hence get an impression the author didn’t desire you to have.
You are now relying on not just the author of the book, but also whoever composed the summary. If the summary writer does a bad job, you lose. For example, they may fail to include an essential story and so you will not remember an important truth.

Once again, these apply to all book summaries and the services that provide them. With those in mind, let’s turn our attention to the Blinkist app user experience.

How does it feel to utilize the Blinkist app?

First, the Blinkist app is readily available for both iPhone and Android. Downloading the app is complimentary. You can sign up utilizing your email address or Facebook account. You’ll get a brief tutorial of how everything works when you open the app for the very first time.

One of the first things you’ll notice is that the app just has three tabs for you to choose from:.

Discover. This is where you can explore their library and discover brand-new titles.
Library. Here, you’ll have access to your individual selection of books.
You. This is where your settings and conserved highlights are.

This is brilliant, because it makes browsing the app and picking what to do truly simple. Let’s take a look at the private tabs.

Blinkist very greatly advertised at me, so I decided to give it a go. Blinkist is an app that has lots of functions, they have audio books, they have podcasts and initial content, but the main selling point, the important things that they advertise, the thing that makes them different from other audiobook apps, is that they claim they can offer you the main points of any non-fiction book in 15 minutes. Essentially, they are marketing themselves as an alternative to checking out books or listening to full audio books by, and I price quote here from their website: “Listen or check out to the crucial concepts from very popular nonfiction titles in 15 minutes” So the concept is that you get their app, you sign up for it, and you can listen to as numerous books as possible that are condensed to 15 minutes, and they claim that you will still get the key concepts and an understanding of what the book has to do with.

I was suspicious, I am a reader and even though I do not check out much non-fiction, considering that I much choose reading fiction, I do check out some of it, some of the books that I saw advertised on Blinkist as 15-minute summaries, I simply could not think of being condensable into 15 minutes. Since we are talking about some truly big books, about heavy, complex concepts that I just didn’t think you can squeeze into 15 minutes. Okay, so I’ve got the Blinkist app in the Google Play Store and I’m going to install that. Write For Blinkist
